Hi everybody,I received my nal from River Pharmacy last Thursday and started off on 50 mgs,I had zero side effects so on my next drinking day I decided to take the 50 mgs again.Still no side effects.
However on my 3rd and last drinking day I again took the 50 mgs but this time after a few hours I had to go and ly down,I had severe stomach cramps and nausea lasting 3 hours. That was last Sunday and I'm afraid to even drink again but I know that won't last long so maybe I should just take 25 mgs next time.
Just wondering if anybody else has experienced the stomach cramps or even stomach pains while taking nal?

I suppose on the plus side I know there not sugar pills I got from India.

Thanks phoenix.

The protocol in the book is to start with 25mg for a couple days. Many people who started right in at 50 regretted it (but lived to tell the tale and warn others to follow the recommended path).

I started at 25 and after stepping up to 50 had noticeable side effects that included nausea and passing cramps (sorta like gas cramps). I was 'on stage' a lot that week and wanted to minimize my discomfort, so I throttled back to 25mg for the first week. I was fine at 50 after that. It just took me about a week to get acclimated, rather than the two days suggested in the book.

Now that I am cured, on the couple times a month I bother to take a Nal so I can have a glass of wine or a beer or whatever, I will typically have a minor passing cramp (again, more like gas than anything) the following day. I never seem to have side effects while actually *on* the Nal.

plain vanilla, thank you for your reply.I had full intentions of starting off on 25 mgs for the first 2 times but since the meds were out for redelivery twice I got excited when I finally got them that I just took a full one without thinking, then when I experienced no SE I decided to take the 50 mgs again next time but the 3rd time was not so plain sailing.
You have put my mind to rest somewhat as regards the cramps,I was starting to think it may be due to liver damage although my LFT is normal every year. However it has been almost a year since my blood work so I'm going to get that done asap.
I'm thinking I will probably do 25 mgs on Thursday when I drink again. Those cramps were pretty bad and scary.
Again, thanks so much for your reply,I appreciate it.
