General Practitioners -- and not just psychiatrists -- may legally and properly prescribe naltrexone as indicated in this New York Times article.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/12/health/12bside.html

Go to http://www.aaap.org -- addiction psychiatrist website with information authorizing the use of naltrexone.

Also, bring a copy of the book, "The Cure for Alcoholism" and highlight the chapter addressed to health care professionals.

OOPS, RandallF, I accidentally deleted your post. You should re-post. Sorry.

Nick

Hmm, the New York Times article claims there is more information about naltrexone at the AAAP site but I never looked at it directly myself. The Times article is very valuable because it has huge credibility as does the author of the article.
