basically every night. I take my nal although I haven't been perfect and forgot on a few occasions over the months
now my partner is starting to get frustrated with all the drinking saying "this isn't what I signed up for" but I feel like I can't stop now and that as I have read it can take some people 7-9 months....anyone been thru this and taken longer than 5 months??

Most of us, yes...don't be discouraged. If you had the "honeymoon" early on and have seen changes for the better, chances are you will be part of the vast majority TSM works for.
Hang in there & be strident in your quest for a "cure". Don't let anyone mislead you and keep reading posts here. Be strong, have faith, and just hang on.

I have no idea what your drunken situation is like, and not to mince words, no partner signs on for a drunken mate. This method works for most people. It takes at least 6 months for most...it is new ground we are all treading. Sorry you are having trouble w/ your partner. That must be the pits, but hopefully he is also respectful of the fact you have acknowledged you have a problem and are TRYING something!

I believe in the "magic" of TSM for most people who try it - but it takes awhile and does not work for all. Good luck, dizzy & hope to hear your progress! It will be ok -

XO

Dizzy, I've been on NAL for 7 months now and have seen signs of improvement but I'm still not cured and if I said at times I wasn't discouraged I'd be lying. I am going to continue even if it takes a year, or maybe a year and half or however long. Don't let anyone or anything stop you from freeing yourself from AL. No two people are alike in this journey so please remember that when you read the posts here and take courage for all you know your cure is just around the corner.

At five months I was still drinking heavily. It was different -- I had clarity and control when I drank and AF days were effortless. But it takes more than six months for most of us -- especially if you've been drinking for a long time. Hang in there, it is a rough journey, I know. Are you seeing any signs of improvement? More clarity, less craving, anything?

My best,

Nick
