Nick,

This is also an observation that I have made and I think it is very important. In fact, I e-mailed Dr Eskapa (via the forum) regarding this subject ten days ago. My question to him was - Is there any correlation between the honeymoon period and success with TSM? I've not had a reply yet. I explained to him that I was a little reluctant to draw any conclusions from our somewhat limited data on the TSM forums. However, it would be a relatively simple matter for Dr Sinclair to review the Finnish data in order to investigate any link between the honeymoon period and TSM success. If I get an answer from Dr Eskapa, I'll ask him if it's OK to publish his reply here on the forum.

Man, these side-effects are pretty fierce! I have read a lot about Naltrexone, here on this board, on the net, and in the book. I knew there were side-effects. Most people claimed slight nausea and/or headache. Few mentioned insomnia, and maybe a little anxiousness.

But I am on my fourth day of Naltrexone, and I about 30-45 minutes after I take it, I am pretty sick to my stomach. My anxiety is through the roof, and the insomnia is F*&@%$# crazy!

But the oddest thing is the weird "detached" feeling I have. I feel sort of dazed (and yet somehow weirdly focused).

So far, for me, this medication is proving to be MUCH more of an intense experience than I expected. I have to admit, I was under the impression that I'd take the pill, feel nothing, and keep drinking as usual, with no change for months; no side-effects, no problems, and basically no real change to anything. But so far, this is definitely not the case. I feel like a zombie. I drink 1/2-1/4 of what I was drinking, and I feel like I am going to throw up until I can get down at least two beers, then the nausea subsides. And I normally have a pretty tough resolve when it comes to these kinds of things.

This stuff is weird. But I am so thrilled that it is working.

Hi pisces,

Although I never actually took the medication Opizone, it has one of the most detailed accounts of known side-effects that I have found. Not only that but it gives numerical values for the likelihood of each side-effect. The following document is obviously produced for opioid addiction but includes interesting information nevertheless:

Hey V --

We may be two steps ahead of the experts-- I haven't read a word about the "honeymoon effect" outside of this board. So, the experts may have to first discover the honeymoon effect and then determine its predictive impact on TSM efficacy before formulating a response to your question. ;)

Despite everyone's urging to do so, I am 4 weeks in and have not recorded my numbers. They have remained pretty much the same or higher than pre TSM except for the first few days where my drinking seemed to be a little more reserved - maybe 4 drinks vs. the standard 6-7. I didn't consider this a honeymoon period because it was only a few days.

What is the average time considered a honeymoon period based on everyone's experience? If it is a few days to a few weeks then I am relieved, if there is any correlation between the HM period and the success of TSM. If it is a week or two and there is a correlation then, YIKES, I'm doomed

I will record my numbers in the new year, I will record my numbers in the new year, I will record my numbers in the new year..................

C.

Happy Holidays everyone. I hope Santa is good to you.

May the new year bless each and every one of us with success with TSM. This will be a very good year. Imagine that many of us will be cured in 2010!! Cheers

Here's a graph where I averaged the data from members participating in our Google Spreadsheet:
http://www.thesinclairmethod.net/community/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=988&sid=d7b10c38a70021d50861dc434be01cd6

There is good data with around 20 of us reporting for the first few weeks and there doesn't seem to be any noticeable bounce back from the "honeymoon period."

We get this data, incidentally, from members logging their units and participating in the spreadsheet for the benefit of those that will come after us ( Yes, I'm just ribbin' ya). Check this thread out if you're interested: http://www.thesinclairmethod.net/community/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=755&sid=d7b10c38a70021d50861dc434be01cd6
