Hi folks,

Normally, on a Friday or Saturday I have a big binge and then spend the next day in bed. Having just started TSM on week 2, my question is this - should I buy my normal (large) quantity of beer on the basis that (a) hopefully the Nal will stop me from being driven to drink it all and (b) if it doesn't then it's part of the extinction, or should I limit it on the basis that the extinction could be effective with less anyway and if the Nal doesn't work it's magic then I don't want to make a mess / risk being an asshole?

Any constructive opinions appreciated!

Since you are very early in the process you should continue to drink as you always have had. While many people to have a "honeymoon" that last a week or more, where they drink at a much reduce rate, this doesn't happen to everyone. Most the people who do have a honeymoon see their numbers jump up later.

This is a long process so strap yourself in for a long ride. Take your Nal one hour prior and drink as usual. Later you will probably need to apply some will power but at this point I would suggest not changing anything.

Thanks folks... I appreciate the input. It's the "making a mess" part that I really worry about, but hopefully, maybe, the Nal will help me to stop in time :?

I agree with the others, with two caveats: 1) ensure that you are not going to engage in dangerous behaviour while drunk (for example, driving). and 2) don't see nal as an excuse to drink yourself into the hospital (i.e. don't get alcohol poisoning!). Good luck!
