Ellpo,

I feel my appetite is weakened by the nal., but that could be all in my head.

I had the very same concerns before I started TSM. I read up a lot here and on other forums where people who had the same concerns were comforted by the experienced TSM'rs who said don't worry about it. Now I'm one of those experienced TSM'rs and I can tell you that what they said was true.

As far as sex goes there is one study out there that suggests at least for men it improves their experience. I can't vouch for that but if anything my sex life with my wife has gotten better since I started TSM because I'm not, as the famous Dead Kennedy's song goes, 'Too Drunk to F***'.

I was mostly worried about the exercise thing since I race bicycles and have been doing so for 20 years. It's the kind of thing that keeps you active at least 5 days a week and is at a very intense level. It would be impossible to design a TSM plan around that schedule where I don't train or race on the days I drink or vise versa. So Ithought I would have to either choose one or the other. I was afraid that TSM would make that go extinct but it hasn't even come close. I still love it just as much if not more now then ever.

The point is, if you reduce or eliminate your alcohol intake then pretty much everything gets better.

A very good question. Also, a chicken and egg thing. Let's face it: What comes first? Answer: Alcohol. Trick question: What comes second? Alcohol!

Third and forth are probably alcohol as well. What happens is that alcohol for us is the main event. All the other things we do are just done to support the alcohol. Each of us do a million different things, but all the things we collectively do are done in support of our drinking. They enhance our drinking pleasure.

Now, golf is fun for lots of folks who don't drink, and I would venture sex for most folks is fun enough without alcohol. But we are all different. Sometimes we like things just because of alcohol. If you really like golf, -Nal will have no effect. But don't be surprised if you lose interest either. Sometimes the only reason we like things is because of the drinking.

But don't panic. I did, but I am telling you not to. Many will find a lot of historically pleasurable activities that happened while drinking loose their luster once you don't. That thought instills panic, -I know.

But Nal works slowly and those panicky thoughts about how I could never again enjoy this or that all seem to work themselves out. Just take the pill and trust.

In the end, -you'll find what you really like to do and everything will be alright.

That's a great point clarion. Don't confuse losing interest in something as your interest in alcohol wanes due to TSM between A) I enjoy golf because it supports my drinking and B) I just really like golf. If your condition is A then you will like golf less but that will not be as a result of TSM and the process of extinction but rather you now no longer like to drink as munch and all those supportive industries will go along with it.

BTW Alice Cooper who was a severe alcoholic went sober the hard way and has become an insane golf nut. My brother too! Ten years sober the hard way and took up golfing.

I always thought that golf was the kind of sport that would drive one to drink but who knows :)
