No joke. A point seldom mentioned here, is that AA dogma requires accepting oneself as a diseased, damaged, helpless train wreck, who despite following all the wisdom of the organization, is to be forever mortified of the inevitable "relapse", which will occur unless superhuman willpower somehow wins out.

Even with 20 years of sobriety, a "slip" or relapse is an instant reset to day one! One must protect one's "quit" at all costs. Just for an idea, visit the My Way Out forum for a taste of that thinking

Coherent and rational thought will tell you, that naltrexone allows a motivated individual to get past drinking abusively.

Even better, you'll be in control, can't relapse (as you never quit, you will either limit your drinking or not drink), but it is your CHOICE, not a mandate. This occurs because you become indifferent to alcohol.

I know this to be true, because that is what has occurred, astonishly well. There's no worrying or fretting about it. You just get on with your improved life.

This method is going to get much better known, and the more we can do to make that happen, the better

It's even dumber than that, actually. You will drink -- and die! you are certain to die! -- unless a divine power works a miracle on your behalf. You don't quit drinking; your "higher power" removes the desire to drink along with your other defects of character.

ETA: Although, come to think of it, "divine will" and "superhuman willpower" could be the same thing.
