I have heard that this can be a side effect of getting into recovery, it changes you and your relationships. The power balance can also be affected, for example instead of being in a relationship with someone who is ashamed, and always making up for their drinking, the former alcoholically drinker is in a different place. There's also co-dependency, and also some people can feel threatened by their partner not being in that more dependent place, or they see it as a threat that they are no longer 'being any fun'.

A couple of rehabs told me that they have received calls from spouses asking 'what have you done to my wife/husband?She/he has completely changed'.

I so agree with all that you have said UKB - my husband said that I have changed so much - and although for him it isn't that great - for me it is good ! He said that I have grown a backbone ! I have no idea why I have changed in this way - maybe it wasn't the Nal - maybe it was something else - whatever - I like how I am (I liked how I was before though too).

Yeah, it's more likely to be the lack of alcohol - you no longer have that messing with you.

Pay him back ???? For not liking the fact that I now stand up to him ???? I am a tad confused ..... first of all your post had me laughing but then I started thinking and could not work out what it is I need to pay him back for - !

P.S. newlife - I am now on LDN ...... BUT if I plan on drinking then I take a whole one an hour before - and I take the LDN at bedtime otherwise. Bought a dropper bottle from Amazon and grind up a 50mg tab and then add 100 ml of water.

Maggie - how long have you been doing that? Can you tell me what the name is of the dropper bottle and more precisely how you do it? How much do you take? Thanks for any info you or anyone else can provide. Thanks, Newlife
