Hi All,
UK Blonde, when you talk about Attachment Theory are you talking about John Bowlby's studies? If so I found them excellent too. Also one thing I've been looking at is that children who experience trauma and have to continue their lives normally may start to produce or use endorphins in a different way – endorphins can kill mental pain, or at least dull it it seems. So either a need for, or a lack of, endorphins is created at an early age.
It makes me very sad to think about that but it makes a lot of sense.
Yes that's exactly it, I've read quite a bit on the subject. Neuroscience also has a part to play - and is probably intertwined with all of this. I have a suspicion that for me cortisol is also important, and if so that is definitely attachment stuff going back a whole generation.
