Those of you who've read 'Seven Weeks to Sobriety': is it possible to use the author's method and be lacto-ovo vegetarian (I eat milk products and eggs, just no animal parts)?
As someone who takes a load of supplements as it is, many of which are likely recommended in the book, I'm not concerned about that aspect. There are, however, a number of diets for people wanting to stop drinking that are meat, meat, meat, eggs, non-starchy, non-sweet vegetables, certain nuts, and pseudo-grains (e.g. buckwheat, quinoa). That's it. Seriously.
For the past eleven days, the SO and I have been on a modified version of this diet (beans, milk, cheese and yoghurt are allowed here--I'm not going to rely on nuts and eggs for all of my protein, ugh!). It has reduced my cravings a bit, and some of the negative symptoms from over-boozing have also abated to a degree, but like today, I feel pretty rubbishy--and I didn't even drink yesterday. Maybe it takes a while. Maybe it's my 'period' and the heat.
I'm not going to stop Nal (arrived yesterday), nor do I plan on quitting spirits altogether. Just want to get back to moderate consumption.
Main question: does the book insist one eat animal parts?
Thanks very much in advance!
All the best,
Xanthippe
