Anyone here still trying this combination? I love the idea of extinction but really do not want to drink at this level for months/years. I know that Lo0p and others used this combo...anyone still here?

I want the extinction of Nal but with the accelerated craving suppression of Baclofen. Any thoughts?

I looked into it a fair bit when I was struggling the most. Some addiction specialists think it's a great approach (there's a researcher in North Carolina who has been working on the combo, I think). I never ended up using Bac but I think it could be a good idea, especially for folks who are drinking all day or super heavily. Just my hunch.

If you go that route please keep us up to date. It would be important info.

LOL, I do drink daily and I do drink heavily. I believe in TSM but am not sure I can live long enough for the miracle to happen.

I just ordered 15000 mg of baclofen from River. Don't know how long it will take to get here, but will keep the site posted about my progress.

I do not want to cure myself with baclofen. I don't want to have to take it forever. I will if I have to, but hope it doesn't come to that.

TSM is how I am going to save my life. I just want to drink less for the months that TSM is going to take.

I ordered from River on 4/28 and Inhouse on 5/2. Neither has arrived yet. Will let you know when they get here. If you order a lot River gives you free shipping and the price is great. For smaller amounts, Inhouse always has free shipping so it's cheaper for smaller amounts.

BamaJohn,
Wonder if your delivery of Balc arrived and if you have started taking it. I have toyed with trying it out as well so I am deeply interested in your progress.

My wife and I started yesterday with 25mg bac. Have been on tsm for a long time now, with some benefits.

Let`s keep on posting our experiences with tsm+bac here.

For now (second day with 10mg in the morning) no SE at all yet (maybe apart from wife getting a great sleep, not sure if connected though).

Please do keep the board updated with you and your wife's progress. I for one am considering adding BAC and am very interested.

Joe,

Hope you consider starting a progress thread so that we can keep up with the two of you easily. Am very interested in how this goes for you.

It's only been 3 or 4 days but I am really pleased with the addition of baclofen. It's now 2:30pm on a Saturday and I still haven't taken a drink. Usually I would be drunk by now, or if for some reason I would have to refrain from drinking I would be so anxious and craving that I would be a nervous, irritable wreck by now. Today am pretty comfortable.

Best of luck to both of you, and keep posting.

It`s been a week now with bac. My wife`s situation improved a lot, although it might be because of one or several factors.

She had been drinking very heavily for the last several months (more than 2 bottles of wine per day, sometimes 3). She was on Naltrexone, though not sure if she was taking correctly (i.e. 1 hour before drinking) as she was continuously drinking (daytime as well, only except nighttime, thanks to Nal) during this time, and she was taking the pill only at around 6pm everyday. She had a form of apathy which was a concern too. In fact the doctor told that might be from naltrexone so we decided to stop for a while, which we did a week ago. I just think it was a huge depression triggered and fed by drinking though.

So, exactly a week ago we had a nice talk (I call it a `love therapy`:) ), we`re spending more time together now and she told me she wasn`t aware of the situation. Now she drinks only after 6pm, and came down to a bottle and half per day. She also says she doesn`t `want` (cravings ?) to drink daytime anymore. We are at 40mg baclofen now and this as well might be contributing although that would be too good to be true I guess.

So her dropping naltrexone, our talk, and starting baclofen all came at the same moment which makes it difficult to pinpoint what helped. But let`s see; I`ll keep posting.

Thought I should join this discussion; seems particularly relevant.

I ordered from InHouse and got the order in 6 days from Vanuatu. Awesome shipping experience.

Added Bac starting near end of week 3 (about May 21 for me) of TSM. Original intention was to ramp up to about 80 mg, after reading Amiesen's book.

Never got there. I've been at about 20 mg for 2-3 weeks now. Ramped up to 30 mg once, but even at 20 mg I experience extreme somnolence, at least right after I take it. I've acclimated a bit, but reading reports of possible hepatoxicity concern me and I don't want to get to Amiesen's crazy levels.

Success with TSM seemed to start coming around time of using Bac so it's difficult for me to separate the two. Daily drinking has come down from 10-12 previously to 3-6 this past week, a huge win for me. Thinking about taking some AF-free days this week - it stills triggers possible thoughts of anxiety, perhaps because of previous aborted attempts. Is 6 weeks into TSM a proper time to give AF days a try? Are there other threads where people are about where I am in the method and preparing for first AF days in a while?

I guess what I'm really trying here is low-dose bac + TSM; I'm getting results so not necessarily upping the bac. Perhaps I will if AF days result in any sense of anxiety in the evening.
