I ran across this blog post today titled 20 Natural Ways To Shatter A Drug, Alcohol or Tobacco Addiction. I can't vouch for any of these ideas, but am sharing in case someone may find something useful here. See http://www.pickthebrain.com/blog/20-natural-ways-to-shatter-a-drug-alcohol-or-tobacco-addiction/ for more info.

Out of ideas listed in that article, I already do several of them.

o I eat a pretty healthy diet, including a fair amount of raw foods.
o I eat a lot of fish and take a lot of fish oil.
o I take milk thistle (just started recently).
o I don't eat sugar (or grains).
o I get some exercise and am increasing it.
o I take magnesium and B vitamins (plus other supplements).
o Reading the posts on this board is proabably a "supporting method".

I think I am going to try the lithium orotate and n-acetyl-cysteine. I doubt they could hurt and I think they have other health benefits anyway.

I've been taking the n-acetyl-cysteine for about a month. I don't know if it is helping or not. I am certainly drinking less and craving less, but it might just be the nal.

The lithium orotate sounded promising, but upon reading up on it more, I kept seeing warnings not to take it if you use a certain class of blood pressure medicine (which I do take), so I haven't tried it.
