Has anyone here read this book? I just received a copy from Amazon, and so far it reads like a novel - very interesting. I am only about 40 pages into it. Anyway, if anyone here is familiar with it, I would love to hear some feedback/opinions.

John,

Yes, I'm very familar with the book as are many members on this forum. It really does read like a novel, but maybe it was his attempt to get the word out when the whole scientific/medical community would not listen.

Anyway, I know firsthand that the drug works for some. There really isn't a "program", on the MWO site it is pretty much self-tailored to each individual's tolerance and "switch" amount. I did try it. The side effects affect everyone differently and unfortunately I was up to 120mgs and could not function. I had to drive 1 1/2 hours each way, three times a week and the somnolence was more than I could handle. I was afraid to get into an accident. Basically, I felt drunk on it and my balance and motor skills were off as well as extreme fatigue. Not a good match for me. Maybe because I'm 5'3", 120lbs and a female. It really has mostly worked on the men and I really think that should be a documented thing.

Anyway, I have the book if anyone wants to trade for Dr. Eskapa's book. The Sinclair method??? You can PM me. In either case. Dr. A's book is a good read and a little horrendous or horrifying at times. I actually emailed him twice and he returned my email...his english was not so good in the emails though, but he was very nice and cordial.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the info. I am enjoying the book. I have already ordered some Baclofen from the river even before the book arrived. I have been on Nal for over four months, and my drinking is way down from where it was - but I've yet to have an alcohol-free day.

Are you having trouble finding Dr. Eskapa's book?

I read it in May 2009. It was my backup plan, if TSM didn't work. But since TSM did work in my case after 21 weeks, I never had to try it.

It certainly is a better read than Dr. Eskapa's book, which is quite repetitive. But really, TSM could be printed on a pamphlet, so I guess he had to stretch it out to the size of a book.

Are you familiar with the forum My Way Out? There is a lot of information there under the forum heading Nal, Balofen and other (or something like that) Check it out and you will get a lot of insight into the use of Baclofen.

I really enjoyed the book, and look forward to hearing more success stories using Bac and other scientific methods of treatment. By the way, it sounds like you are doing quite well on TSM. Congrats. Maybe you'll get an AF day before the Bac arrives. :)

ART and Houtx, are the two of you going on BAC? Today my HB and I are going to the doc in the GQ article so keep fingers crossed. We also ordered Bac online just in case the amount he prescribes is not enough. My HB is definitely going on it, he can't wait for TSM to kick in and I'm seeing results with TSM myself having some AF days and my interest in AL is ever so decreasing but to be able to stop smoking is just so tempting to try BAC and get rid of both monkeys.

Yes, waiting on BAC right now. I posted on my own thread a few minutes ago, but it didn't fly so will try again. I am drinking w/o NAl tonight and can definitely tell the difference. I feel like I am ****-faced drunk after only 4. NAL works, but just in a different way for me, one of the 22% not "cured" pepole...("peep pole"!! funny!! not gonna fix that)
