I'm adding myself. I'm cured.

I hope everyones experiences are like mine! Today I have 365 AF days that equals one year. I know I would not be here if it wasn't for Naltrexone. It took me about four months to start some alcohol free days and snowballed from there. I am so grateful to Dr. Sinclair and his development of the TSM! I wish I could meet him and thank him personally. My only advice is keep a journal. At first I didn't want to because I was still drinking but then everyday became a gold star on my forehead to claim another day alcohol free! The reward of that accomplishment outweighs the enjoyment of drinking now! A few weeks I didn't record and it took forever to figure (remember) what I had done. So keep
good records. I am probably over a year but because I messed up those weeks in my journal I don't count them. Very frustrating! Anyway just stay the course amazing things are coming your way!

I'm NOT cured! I did the SM faithfully for 4 months. Then started playing around. Had a surgery and a prescribed narcotic that kept me disinterested in drinking for a week or so after off said narcotic. I keep hoping for change but starting to wonder if AA ain't right.

Not much activity on this thread, sounds like nobody's been cured in a while.

Reading back to 2009, there were quite a few people on here.

Where did they all go?

Nobody uses this thread any more. Current custom is to start one's own "cured" thread where the process can be discussed and congrats given.

I really want to congratulate all of you for having found control again, it must be a fantastic feeling. I thought I had regained it too, but it was just what they call the honeymoon, it worked marvellous for 3 times, I stopped after 5,6 small beers and just couldn't do any more. I am a binge drinker who gets totally hammered every time he touches AL, control loss, black out, the lot, I am feeling so disgraced and down after these binges and hoped with TSM I found something which finally would help.

After the first 3 times drinking moderately on TSM I though wow, that's it..only to fall back into old patterns the 3rd and 4th time when I was badly drunk.
Are there any binge drinker among you who could share their experience with me...

Hang in there, Colorblind! The nature of binging can make things harder, but most of the stories of the bingers I've read about say they are glad they stuck with TSM. Don't get discouraged about the honeymoon, you've gotten a good confirmation that the Nal will work for you and the increase in drinking happens most every time. It would be unusual if it didn't happen, from the reports that I've read.
