I declared myself cured six months ago but continued to log my drinking for a whole year. Links to the results are below.
I have to say that I was surprised by my quick response. Without naltrexone I could go AF for only one month at most.

During my first six months on TSM I was also using a bit of will power to reduce my drinking when a felt I needed to.
I was a bit stubborn and did not want to see the line graph creeping upwards, even though I knew that this would not equate to failure. Perhaps this led to a quicker response.

Congratulations. That's a textbook graph. How has your life improved?

Thankyou Barry

I am a lot more at ease. I no longer count drinks in the evening to ensure that I will be under the legal driving limit in the morning.
No more rushing to the liquor store on foot because I ran out of grog and am too drunk to drive.
I can now get things done on my days off.
Liver pain is gone.
My blood pressure was previously in the 'high normal' range. It is now just normal.
I can binge watch entire television series and remember the last episode as well as the first.
This list goes on.

^^^That's pretty funny. When I needed a couple extra drinks, I'd pretend to "go jogging" but just run straight to the liquor store. I knew if my wife heard the keys, she's grill me on where I'm going. When drunk, I can barely run a 1/4 mile without getting out of breath even though I can go like Forrest Gump when sober.

It's good that your life is better without alcohol. I always worry especially about drinkers whose life actually sucks without alcohol -- they're bored, binge eating, "dry drunk" and irritable, etc...

Meh, it's still better than life with the alcohol.
