I really should have posted this a while ago. I PM'd ~Q~ to add me to the official list. I am at two months of controlled drinking. Honestly, I think I could simply stop, and probably will in the end. I don't drink out of control and it's not a problem anymore. I think a "bad binge" is four or five drinks. That's a far cry from where I started this journey. I won't say I am cured, as I must have naltrexone forever. It's truly like an allergy now: when it's drinking time, it's nal time first.

My grad school apps are complete and I am watching the mail constantly, hoping for good news. As a drunk, that was out of the question for me. I am cleaning my life and feel the best I have in years. TSM has made it possible for me to live the rest of my life.

I would like to thank Tiller, Hesster, Ketchikan1, Sticky, Chrissie, Zippy and everyone else for their support. I appreciate Dr. Eskapa for writing the book and Dr. Sinclair for the research.

Way to go HF! You really persevered through some dark and unpromising times (or so they seemed). I'm so glad to see you come out of the tunnel. Your success is new wind in all of our sails!

Congratulations, that is wonderful to hear! I think it is great to see success stories like yours on here; it really helps encourage the newcomers and people who may be struggling with TSM. Best of luck with the grad school apps! :)

Congrats, HF! Thanks again for all the support you gave me during your time here. I always enjoyed your very thoughful yet straightforward approach to this program, and obviously it paid off for you in the end. Best of luck with the grad school stuff! You've earned this.

I just logged in here to read Curious One's comment and was shocked to realize I never added my "High Five!" to your announcement!

Heavy Fuel, I'm so happy for you, and encouraged by your success. I really appreciate all your detailed posts which provided a lot of ideas and inspiration for us all. Yes, it's time for you to pick up the trail (where it was lost to alcohol), and get on w/ the rest of your life...sounds like you have new things pending...it all sounds good to me! :D
