Thanks for all the replies End of Benders, Ketch, Digetic, Tiller, Heavy Fuel and EL.

David45, I can understand you are feeling a little discouraged but from the little you told me you're going great. Week 14 is only a tiny way in (about a 3rd of the journey for most) and to be down to 30 drinks a wk with 4 AF after a 20 year drinking history is great going. Definitely hang in there, most of the rewiring will be happening now and you won't be conscious of it happening. In terms of drug and alcohol counsellors, the world was once flat too :D . As I understand the FDA have recently approved Naltrexone's twin brother- Nalmefene for use in exactly the way we take Nal in TSM. The marketing is to reduce harm from heavy alcohol intake but all the same I take that as a big tick of approval. Best of luck, it will still take some time for you but you WILL get there!

JDog- I'll still be checking in on you from time to time. I plan to continue to post my weekly figures in weekly progress to take me out for a year- so I won't be going anywhere quickly. Hang in there, I know you have had so many positive changes already, they'll just keep getting better for you.

Sorry, would have emailed you sooner but for some reason I don't always get notification of a response in regards to my posts. Not sure why that happens?

Thank you for your thoughtful post. I have no plans on giving up! I didn't let that counselor discourage me. I doubt she even read the book. I found it ironic she talked about how one day science will be able to genetically engineer the addiction gene out before a baby is born ( Dear God, wouldn't that be nice!? ) but took no stock in this science.

There may be some value in seeing a counselor but not with one that was so judgmental and not open minded.

If mankind makes it another 100 years people will look back to this time as the dark ages, right up there with leeches.

It seem TSM works on a very subtle level. In week 14, I have seemed to maybe have entered a new phase where sometimes I hardly feel a buzz. Sometimes I stop and pour out my drink, sometimes I don't. Before TSM I never stopped - EVER. I do like the fact I don't blackout and lose the last few hours of a night!

Take care and thanks once again!

Congratulations to you Warrenjames! Your story gives me hope I haven't had in a long, long time!

On a side note, I believe if Naltrexone wasn't a generic drug some big drug company would be heavily marketing it out in in the world as the cure for alcoholism and more doctors would take note. But for now all we can do is fight this 'flat' world theory of alcoholism and chart our own course to freedom thanks to the Sinclair Method.

Good luck to you and I look forward to seeing your progress!

~Pam
