I don't mind at all Mike that's a good idea. It's our project. The "do not edit the yellow" is just for people that have never seen a spreadsheet before... ;)

You've got to remember though that out of 278 members, not all are doing TSM. There are only 70 or so that ever started a progress thread, and much less are even active on the forums. There's really not that many of us.

Is there any way you can think of to motivate members to be more active and contribute their numbers--good or bad, or neutral? That would be enormously advantageous to this small, eclectic and perhaps self-selected, community. We need MORE numbers! Otherwise, we'll just muddle through.

With widespread and publicized usership, this could turn the boat around. (Maybe). Any ideas, anyone?

Mike

Mike,

I envy you!

My OM taught me how to sail in Boston Harbor in the 70's. How I hope to one day to do a trip such as yours...Sailing is one of my passions and I haven't done it in a few years.

Sorry to the topic....

I will promise to try and keep accurate numbers. I feel as though I've let the board down by not being more scientific....

For the record, 1 beer and one martini (probably three units) so far. I will probably have a few more, but I am currently trying to just let the drinks happen and not obsess...

I am responding as a proxy for my wife. Numbers for her drinking prior to TSM would not be useful except for the craving number which I would say would be a 10 out of 10. Now, I could put that craving number at 1. My wife was a serious binge drinker. Abstinent for a period of time (I think) and then off the charts for days, or sometimes weeks. That what the cravings did to her. Even when she was abstinent, her cravings were there. That has been the biggest change in her thanks to nal. I know from reading this Board that my wife is atypical. She started gaining control of her drinknig from the first day she took nal and shared a bottle of wine with me, which was very strange for me since I had stopped drinking (except for a beer or two occasionnaly after golf) for about two years. And hadn't drank in the house for quite a while.
From that first day, my wife was a changed person. We, for the past eight weeks, go alcohol free Mon-Thurs and share some wine Fri Sat and Sunday.
The difference is that now when the wine is gone, the drinking stops, unlike before TSM, when there was always bottles hidden, wine or vodka, that she would drink until...well the ending was usually detox, hospital or worse.
I still hesitate to use the word cure, but with nal one hour before drinking, that is the best description for my wife. Not typical but as honest as I can be.
