Hi all,

Has anyone experienced excess tearing and redness of the eyes from Nal?

I think Nal has caused this with me, and the tearing has lead to sinus congestion, runny nose, low or no sense of smell, and very nasal-sounding voice. On the few days that I haven't take Nal, it seems like the symptoms lessen. I also recently decreased the dose on the days I do take Nal, and the symptoms seem to have reduced.

I'd appreciate any input!

Hi anonymous_one, funny that you mention this as I have had Post nasal drip before but now had to get some allergy pills which have not helped much. I have red eyes everyday, tear in one eye and have got to blow my nose constantly. Not sure if it's the Nal or something else but the red eyes are ridiculous.

Cheeto, thanks for the reply! I've done a ton of searching online for the kind of side effects you and I have described. The only source I could find that mentions excess tearing ("increased lacrimation") is this one: http://cnsdiseases.com/naltrexone-50-mg-tablets

Best to you.

Occasionally my neck will get flushed and my eyes get bloodshot after I take Nal (sometimes even before I drink any alcohol!). It doesn't happen every time, and I haven't been able to connect it to any other trigger. My eyes never get randomly red on days that I don't take Nal (which is most days now :) )

The whites of my eyes are frequently pink when I wake, but it clears through the morning. I was thinking of picking up some visine for it. My nose might be a bit more runny, but the weather's cold out too. No change in sense of smell, but I'm a smoker...

How long have you been taking Nal, anonymous?
