Really great input Camila, I am so glad to hear of your good result starting. It does take a while and can be a bit different I imagine for everyone so LaBear do not beat yourself up over the vodka thing. Just do some healthy things for yourself and keep going and stick with it. I'm pulling for you. :)

Camilia - that's one of the most encouraging stories I've heard - can you please help us by posting in the weekly progress section? This is great stuff and I almost missed it.

I was just commenting on Q's progress that it's really encouraging to hear dramatic moments at the 3 month mark...for those of us sitting at the 2 month mark it's still seems a little bit unreal. (Reading your post I actually realized that I no longer expect the kinds of results you describe - I've been so focused on just being patient that I've forgetten that I may actually lose the desrie to drink eventually).

Thank you for posting!

Hi again

LaBear definitely don't feel bad about the vodka thing or your pattern -it's completely typical. We all try different things like switching drinks and switching countries even. Some of us are daily drinkers (like the mediteraneans!) and others bingers (like we the Irish!). There is no 'one size fits all'. I binged again last night out of pure habit - and relief to be back home after a business trip. Now I need to really test myself this week.

Cheers all

Camelia

Camelia, thank you so much for this post. It was very encouraging. I'm into week 10, and am disappointed that my drinking is not down as much as I'd hoped it would be by now. Generally, I'm drinking about 10-12 units less per week (tho I did have an AF day this week, so it will be down much more). I have a strong feeling that something like your experience is just around the corner. . .and hearing you describe what is happening is a confirmation of that.

Thanx!

I am so happy when I hear about progress regardless of what kind of drinker a person is. Although I did find the type of drinking style depending on heritage very interesting. I think I will investgate that further! lol. Anyway if one just follows the formula to take the pill an hour before you drink something should change after 4 months or so. That is how long it took for me and then even after that it kind of went up and down for a while. There were all kinds of subtle changes that happened as well. Anyway, as always I totally wish the best to everyone. :D

potato, thank you so much for hanging in here with those of us who haven't made it to where you are yet. Your posts are so very inspiring - it gives us all something to look forward to. I know it must be tempting sometimes to back off this MB, as it can be time-consuming, and now that you're not drinking as much you might feel that you have less in common with us than formerly. But at least for now, when everyone is still fairly young in the program, input from you and N101CS and other veterans is invaluable.

BTW: Anyone hear how SpringRider is doing?

Yes, Irish here and more of a binge drinker than daily. AF today so far have a lot of things to get out of the way that binges interupt!

I'll say binges get in the way!! I really find it a pain in the a** when I have to spend valuable time recovering from something I did the night before when I would rather be doing things that need to get done. (been a long time since that happened, thank the universe, God or whatever), As for keeping up with everyone I try my best because I want others to be successful just as much as me and I am always amazed and happy when they are!! Plus right now in life, I have time. :D

Well, not quite sure what is going on with me. Took Nal. on Saturday and went out and had one glass of wine that didn't taste good so I switched to Vodka on ice and had three and was totally wasted on it. Didn't see it coming either. Very strange for me I can drink a bottle of vodka and still be coherent! Drank some wine yesterday and was o.k. Today I had the worst panic attack I have had in 20 plus years while driving. Had to return home. Thought I was going to faint at the wheel. This was on my way to the gym at 8:00 a.m. Still don't feel right and its 6:30 p.m. Really knocked me for a loop. Not a happy camper right about now. Not sure about anything at this point. Seems like the permission I give myself to drink more days than I used to is not really doing me much good.
