Dr. Eskapa -
I'm currently looking for any information regarding TSM & eating disorders. Below is a bit about my background with my eating disorder, as well as my family history with alcohol & drugs, which I had previously posted about in another thread.

The reason I'm looking into TSM for eating disorders is because of my family history of alcoholism & drug addiction.
I've had an emotional eating/binge eating disorder since the age of 8 1/2. I'm now 37. I know it isn't as bad as some others' problems, but it's pretty bad. I am not looking for a quick fix. I am looking for solutions to augment therapeutic treatment. (I am currently looking into out patient therapy with either a psychiatrist or psychologist who won't automatically send me to OA.)
Like wrote above, there is a family history of alcoholism & drug addiction. My dad, older sister, & older brother are alcoholics/addicts. My dad has been sober for almost 40 years, after he quit all by himself. However, he developed problems with anorexia & exercise addiction later on, which he still has problems with even in his 70s. (I know he really actually wants to drink, but is afraid of the consequences.) My mom had problems with bulimia & binge eating on & off for decades, & it's ruined her health severely. She still secretly binges, although she hardly purges anymore.
I personally have never had a drink, aside from 2 sips of beer when I was 16. I've never done drugs or smoked either. Except, I recognize that I have the personality similar to an alcoholic with regard to my eating disorder.
I have looked through the forum for any information I can find, but from what I've read here so far, it seems all the research having to do with TSM & eating disorders is in it's early stages. I'm a little frustrated by this, but I understand.
Do you know if there is still any research regarding eating disorders & TSM being conducted, & how far along it is? Or has research ceased?
Thank you in advance.
