Am I right that Steatosis , fatty liver is not liver disease per se which means cirrhosis
or viral or toxic hepatitis ?
I saw a gastrologist who gave me my Naltrexone , and was clear about my intention to take it as tsm . He didn't seem overly worried but thought I should retest the enzymes later .
Whereas the alcoologue who first gave me Nal would not renew when I said what I had in mind .
So steatosis is not liver disease ?
If I wanted to allay anxiety here and took 7,14 , 30 days off on abst would that mean starting again from scratch ?
I'm completing week 3 find it beneficial and consumption is around "safe" limits now.

Naltrexone used properly - according to the Sinclair Method (pharmacological extinction) should help the majority of compulsive drinkers lower their drinking levels. Consequently the stress on the liver is reduced and inflamation (raised enzymes) should improve. If you have 'fatty liver' you should consult your doctor. It may turn out that deliberately abstaining may help the liver recover. When the craving overwhelms you - if it does - be sure to take the correct dose of naltrexone before drinking. Sinclair suggests 1 hour prior to drinking. If that is not possible take the medication as soon as you can - but only in combination with ongoing drinking.
