Just curious really. Before alcohol ever became a real problem, I was an opiate abuser (an everything abuser actually, but I had a pretty big off-and-on run with opiates and was a serious addict for some years)
My question is...
Since the tiny endorphin rush alcohol provides creates neurological pathways that reinforce drinking patterns, do you think it's possible that a history of opiate abuse could create 'super highways' that alcohol could easily follow? (I know a lot of people who got out of that scene and ended up as heavy drinkers REAL fast...)
