I have just heard that the use of Naltrexone will show up in a UA. I am applying for a new job and hope to have something soon, but I am afraid that this will show up negatively on the UA that will be required of me. Does anyone know if this is true and/or how it will show up? I don't want to stop taking the Naltrexone as it is working for me, but I am not on the cured list yet. Any information would be great. Thanks!

Wow that's a great question. I never even considered it but wouldn't that be ironic if I got fired and lost my career trying to stop abusing alcohol. I really doubt is would give any kind of a positive but I sure would like a definate answer...anybody?

UAs test for the presence of specific drugs: Opiates, amphetamines, Benzo's, THC, etc. I never heard of a UA that tested for NAL. Although it may be theoretically possible to test for NAL (some test for Buprenorphine), Why would it? Besides, it washes out of you system in 24hrs.

the more that they test for, the more money and urine they need. they only test for drugs that get a person high. there is absolutely no way they would test for naltrexone. UA's usually test for 10-15 different drugs. i am 100% sure they have not created a test to detect naltrexone in urine. they can detect anything in blood, but in urine the drug has already metabolized, and tests are not easily created. the test for the "spice" drug took millions of $ to create over a year long period, and they still cant use the test because its unreliable. naltrexone will not show up in urine because it will no longer be naltrexone once it gets metabolized. i would bet that no one even knows yet what metabolize naltrexone even is. its very illegal for a company to demand a blood test, only a court can do that to a potential criminal. there is no UA test for naltrexone.
