Dear Dr Eskapa

I am due to begin with The Sinclair Method tomorrow and am feeling broadly very positive.

I am slightly confused about what behaviours should be avoided during naltrexone days. I have a long history of anxiety/depression/alcohol abuse and have found that mild exercise and pleasurable activities such as horse-riding and tennis improve my general mood and obviously are beneficial physically. Should I totally avoid these activities during the first weeks of naltrexone+drinking?

Unfortunately I am still awaiting your book so, if this question is covered there, I apologise.

Thank you very much for your time.
Shasha

Yes, it is covered in the book. THe main thing is to extinguish the unwanted behavior - the addictive drinking. When that is under control you will be on selective extinction - days off drinking and naltrexone. You only drink with naltrexone and do not take naltrexone when not drinking - according to Sinclair. All the best!

Do the things you enjoy regardless. Do not stop exercising, playing games, having sex or anything else on the NAL. Just follow the formula as far as drinking goes and don't overthink anything else. Carpe diem every day - do what you want - and certainly do things that are good for you and you enjoy!

From everything I've gathered, there is no way pleasure from some of these other activities is going to be extinguished - just over time, the desire to drink. Life is not worth living without the other things heavily measured in. And on the days there is no drinking/no NAL & supposedly all the other activities & pleasure derived thereof are enhanced...WOO HOO.

I am now into my 4th week & see only tiny changes. That's ok. I am still exercising and doing everything else. Not feeling any big changes on any level. Certainly not going to stop doing things I enjoyed before this...feel like what was ingrained before will remain. It is kind-of a mind/matter/concentration thing...alcohol is the drug/ opiod that the NAL is targeting....not my exercise/sex/food/friend pleasures that are always there....

True?? I think yes.

I'm sorry - I just realized I posted on the Dr. Escapa page. I'm embarrassed & my comments muddy the waters here and not appropriate. Forgive moi & I will try to be more careful :-)

My professor wanted the essay on positive behavior within a day so I knew that is myassignmenthelp legit. This is the reason I asked them to complete the essay for me.
