Joesixpack,
Thanks again for your reply. Today is much much better after 2:30 pm with no cravings at this point. Thought I was doomed yesterday. Keeping with the Sinclair Method.
Cheers,
heatus

Joesixpack,
Cravings started this morning took a Nal at 11:00. Still have very strong cravings at 2:00. Hope they leave. Don't remember this strong a craving for a drink.

You shouldn't use the Nal just to block craving. That's the opportunity to have an extinction session (which only requires one drink). People get the best results when they keep the craving, the dose and the drink closely coupled, so when you crave, take the Nal, wait an hour and have a drink. If you put it off for hours, the results are not as good.

The Z-class drugs might have an impact on your craving too, any chance of switching to an OTC sleep aid or something else (with your doc's blessing)?

NB, the cravings will go up and down too, it's not a straight line down.

Joesixpack,
That's very helpful. Thank you. I guess I was doing it incorrectly and that's why I have been struggling the past few days. Are you saying that after a while you will have some days with no cravings and you wind up with a AF day?

Like I said, the cravings will go up and down even if you're doing things perfectly. It's just that with Nal you have a defense against the fallout of the craving and are actually using the craving against itself.

Indeed, you should continue to push against the habitual aspect of drinking, just don't deny the craving as that's your signal to attack. On a day you don't have craving, that's a perfect opportunity to try for an AF day. If you get part way into it and the craving won't leave you alone, turn and attack. If you cruise through without that, then you just got an AF day.

So work on noticing the difference between craving (it persists) and habit. Attack the craving and use delay/distraction/substitution techniques on the habit.
