Didn't want to drop off the planet after being cured by TSM as these types of posts really helped me when I was struggling through the program. I started the program on 4/27/15...it happened around week 22...but I'm now on week 26 and do not feel dependent on alcohol anymore! Can't believe it! Was losing patience over the summer...still kept binge drinking after taking Nal. However, gradually I noticed that instead of having to drink (for example) two strong beers, three strong drinks (followed by shots of liquor before bedtime), I started to have hangovers after a beer and a 3/4 bottle of wine. Now during the week I much prefer an iced tea with dinner. On the weekends I may have 2-5 drinks the entire weekend which I think is pretty normal. Sometimes I don't drink on the weekends at all...just don't feel like it. NEVER THOUGHT I'D BE ABLE TO SAY THAT! THIS PROGRAM HAS SAVED MY LIFE! I'm in my fifties and have been drinking heavy for about 15-20 years. For the past several years my heart had started to pound every night after heavy drinking and eating which was really scaring me. Although I was able to maintain a successful career I was falling apart inside. The isolation and agony of hiding my addiction from everyone was taking it's toll on me. My husband was the only one who knew and I could tell it was scaring the heck out of him. For those who feel despondent and impatient about the time it takes to see results, PLEASE NEVER GIVE UP. The timing is different for everyone. I am still floored that alcohol doesn't control me anymore. Was hesitant to post this message because it really just happened the past several weeks but I can't control my happiness! Another note to add about the way I'm feeling which is so different than when I first started the program is the way I feel after one drink...that incredible drive is gone. I can easily put the brakes on after one or two drinks without much thought. It seems to come naturally...like years ago... when I was in my 20's... It is an unmistakable knowing when "the cure" happens.

I started Nal about the same time and I have a very similar history. my results have also been terrific. I feel AL doesn't control me, and I just don't get that excited about it anymore. it's a really great feeling.....
