In brief....been on Nal for about three weeks. Took a lot to ask my doctor for it. He told me to be sure to take it daily, and he also very much pushed AA. Pretty much told me I couldn't get better without formal support such as AA. :(
So anyway, so far I can't tell a difference, other than I get sleepier than normal. In fact, i think that my drinking may have gone up a bit since I wanted to heal myself really fast. Oh, yeah, I'm all about health (stomach pains in the right side and tummy gotten fat and distended due to alcohol).
Been keeping a drinking log inconsistently. If it weren't for this site, i would've given this up by now. As long as there's hope....I want a life free of alcohol!

This is weird....but I just realized that 4 hours ago I took my NAL. An hour after that I fixed a drink. Really didn't want to drink too much b/c husband is getting ready to leave for a few days, then I leave this weekend, we won't see each other for a while, and I didn't want to be completely out of it our last evening together. So I had my drink (probably 1.5 ounces), then kinda wished I could have another, then started doing some other things, and just realized: It's been almost three hours ago since I finished my first drink and after one small initial craving, I haven't even wanted another one! That is so weird: I haven't even wanted another drink!
Hmmm.....I'm wondering if I'm sick. But usually even when I'm sick I drink.
I wonder if I was just being rational. Nah, behavior from the past 8 years provides evidence to the contrary.
I wonder, I wonder, if it was the NAL? Could it be? Hope springs eternal.
I know two things: I didn't want another drink tonight and it was wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
I'm having fun playing around with these smilies. :P Which I can do because I'm sober! ;)

I found that if I occupy myself doing other things I completely forget about drink number 2 for a few hours. Drink number 1 still feels necessary, but the longer I am on Nal the longer it is taking me to finish it.
