bigtex, I think we're all stubborn to some extent and do what you have to do to go forward to free yourself, if telling your wife is the way to go or waiting to see some positive effects before that happens is all up to you, only you know the right course. I understand how we want to protect those we love but for now focus on the cure and it sounds like she'll be by your side whether she knows or not.

good luck

Big T: I understand your hesitation to tell your wife about TSM. I have made a similar decision. I have been with my GF for over 2y and if she suspects my problem she does not let on. Ideally, I will be able to solve this on my own; fessing up is always an option, but for now I prefer to carry on privately.

Like you, my father was also an alcoholic. My mother never drank a drop. My sister does not drink, and I am an alcoholic. My ex-wife does not drink, so chances are at least two of my four kids will have this problem. I hope TSM works for my sake, and for my children's sake as well.

Sorry, Bigtex, that you are in that place with your wife - you know your situation better than anyone else. I believe once you are more in control you will be able to tell her. I know what you mean about admitting that we are weak and need help. It's so hard!!! I admire you for your strength in going into this without her support, and without her knowing how hard this is for you. I guess you are making the sacrifice of her peace of mind versus your need for support (I don't agree with you but hey, who am I?)

As one Catholic to another - have a good Lent - offer up all your pain - the rewards are great, here, and "there"

all best wishes.

Good Luck BigTex. I am on the other end of the problem. It is my wife who is the alcoholic and her problem has gotten her into much trouble. After 7 months of TSM, things have improved greatly. Hang in there and continue with the nal. I am a believer, watching the transformation of my wife. Not totally cured but life is worth living again. Best of luck
