THE MEDIA MAKES THE 'P' OR 'PLEASURE ERROR' AS DAVID SINCLAIR SAYS - COMPULSIVE DRINKING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH 'PLEASURE' - PEOPLE LEARN THE ADDICTION AND DRINK REFLEXIVELY - NOT FOR 'PLEASURE' NALMEFENE AND NALTREXONE DO NOT 'BLOCK PLEASURE' ... PEOPLE HAVE LOST CONTROL OVER THEIR DRINKING BECAUSE THEIR BRAINS - THROUGH THE OPIOID SYSTEM AND OVER MANY DRINKING SESSIONS HAVE LEARNED THE CRAVING - THE BRAIN HAS BECOME WIRED FOR THE BEHAVIOR... IT BECOMES A REFLEX. MUCH LIKE TRYING TO HOLD ONE'S BREATH ... YOU CAN DO IT FOR $100 OE LESS FOR SAY 3 MINUTES BUT EVEN $1 M IS NOT ENOUGH TO HOLD IT FOR 15 MINUTES... THE REFLEX TAKES OVER... AND THE CRAVING IS OVERWHELMING - THUS 85 TO 90 % RELAPSE BACK TO HEAVY DRINKING WITHIN A FEW MONTHS .. well around 5 to 10 % can over-ride this compulsion - choose abstinence with ease - but were they 'addicted' by definition in the first instance?

TSM is a safe way to gradually detox and remove or weaken the wiring - opioid neural circuitry - that drive dangerous drinking - and for around 80 % it allows control over drinking to happen... of course if one drinks without the ptotection of nalmefene or naltrexone the addiction will be re-learned withing weeks .. or even days for some....
