May have been posted before, from Feb 2000. One of the few directly related to TSM that I have found and from the homeland.

Another interesting read

Those were great articles rapper. Interesting mention of TSM being more expensive than other treatments in Finland and therefore not covered under govt. health plans- made me wonder what the heck the other treatments are as TSM is definitely one of the least expensive routes in the US. I also appreciated the mention of "the hole" left in an alcoholics life when their drinking slows or stops. This is on my mind a lot lately as I try to figure out what the heck to do at night now that I'm not hell bent on getting loaded. Thanks for posting :)

HI Serentiy -- I'm with you on trying to figure out alternative ways to fill my evenings (I think it was ART who said recently she thinks she drinks sometimes because she's just bored). Anyway, Virgil posted a link to an interesting article on how to boost Endorphins in his new topic today that I thought has some good ideas and then I wrote one pretty much in jest about what my perfect day would be like but I've been thinking about it since and I actually think if I was proactive and started searching out more productive (and/or) fun things to do to fill up my time at night I'd drink less and start feeling less sorry for myself. I'm at home most nights because of my son but it doesn't mean I couldn't pick up a good book or watch a fun movie instead of pouring myself another glass of wine and getting depressed by cable news. Any suggestions welcome :)
Sabrina

Serenity Seeker I think the cost may/ or may not be related to the date of the article. I don't recall when nal went generic/ at least for alcohol. Numerous articles are also discussing Vivitrol as the form of nal which seems to be expensive. Not sure?

Gee Naltrexone cheap? I don't think so...at least here in Canada, from River, 4 months supply cost me $499!!!! And that's way less than half the price I would have to get it locally. Here we have to buy Revia, no generic stuff that I know about. Any other Canadians out there who know where to get it cheaper? Has it gone generic here in Canada?

no, I don't have a drug plan...

BGH just think $499 in Nal now but down the road how many bottles of wine would that pay for once your free! I don't know about you but every time I spend a dime on AL it just makes me sick, then I think of all the money I've spent on AL over the years I could have bought a HOUSE! now that's disturbing. Love you BGH, you're someone I'd love to meet up in Canada.

I pay $5 per month w/ my HMO in US. Not trying to rub it in. Obama is gonna take care of that though. I'll be ordering online soon. (I know, don't get political)

rapper I'm with you, I pay $6 a month maybe we should try to buy as much as we can now before things change and it's triple that amount or who knows how much more. Sorry I just had to respond to what he said but whatever we pay it's worth it for what it holds for us down the road.

roger that corkit. I am trying. I don't think it'll change that fast though. But it is something to think about. If the results are worth it, I'd pay anything.
