Hi all

I have been reading these forums for a few weeks, and would love to try Naltrexone to try and curb my binge drinking and blackouts. I have now been to 2 Drs. and neither of them will prescribe it for me, they want me to try total abstinence on it's own first. I know this doesn't work for me, so does anyone know of any Drs in Sydney who will prescribe it? It is much cheaper to go through the Dr than an online pharmacy.

No doctor in Australia can prescribe naltrexone for use using the Sinclair Method, because it is only approved for use in abstinence-based treatment. So, you will have to just agree to be abstinent to get the prescription, and then use it in the way you would like to.

I was able to get a prescription for Naltrexone from the GP that works out of the Drug Health unit at RPA Hospital in Camperdown:

You can just ring and make an appointment. They will get you to do some blood & Liver function tests as well probably. And all bulk billed. I imagine they have a similar system at St Vincents or probably most public hospitals.

In Australia, it is much cheaper to get medicines from online mymathgenius pharmacy as compared to any doctor. But as you know around the globe the situation is critical so it's better to go to a doctor in case of a fever and cough. Please don’t take medicines on your own.
