Does anyone know a doctor in Rockland County NY or Bergen County NJ?

The only ones I can find in the area are in NYC and that's a huge hassle for me to get to.

Thanks

You might try talking with the NYC docs, TSM doesn't take a lot of office visits. They may be willing to do telehealth after the first in-person appointment. I'd suggest going to Labcorp or the like and getting the liver tests yourself, maybe ask one of the docs which ones to get. You'll be able to walk into a doc's office test results in hand, which will streamline things.

Another approach is to go to a younger Nurse Practitioner in your area and tell them you quit drinking and want Naltrexone to keep the cravings toned down, that's how a lot of TSM'ers had to do it. NJ seems to be a bit of a wasteland for TSM, for some damned reason, so stick with the classic way of prescribing Nal and they likely won't have a problem. You can also try one of the Urgent Care outfits like Zoom Medical, a lot of the docs there tend to be younger and more open minded.

The physician's list also has a "Prescribers" section of docs that have prescribed oral Nal in the past. Some of those will lean towards Vivitrol injections, but once again if you stick with the classic use story they might ok an Rx for oral. Googling Addiction Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner might scare up some leads too.

If all else fails, many do order without a prescription from All Day Chemist or River Pharmacy. For ordering overseas, some have suggested a throwaway mail account and a prepaid Visa with a little more than is needed on it.

Stick with us, we'll help you figure out some way to get it done!
